Heads up! Things are changing around here. Time to revamp the site and update some of the pages. Prices and subject to change over the weekend while I work on overhauling my site. So please excuse the mess, confusion, and missing pieces; and check back with me on Monday!
My admiration for the human body started at a very young age. Growing up I thought I wanted to be a surgeon! But once I was in high school that quickly changed, but my fascination with the body didn’t. I joined the ROP Athletic Fitness Aide class and was on the side lines taping football players and lugging Gatorade bottles back and forth from the locker room. After high school I spent a year at Cuesta trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do? I ended up dropping out of Cuesta and enrolling in a massage therapy program at Hirudaya Holistic Life Center, and something clicked. I powered through their 200 hr program and just kept going. I took every class I could afford until the school closed at the end of 2006. I graduated from Hirudaya Holistic Life Center in 2006 with over 600 hours of training under my belt. I have training as a Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Childbirth Educator. I am also entering the world of Group Fitness and teach an in-door cycling class at 3 different locations (Equilibrium Fitness in SLO, Kennedy Club Fitness Atascadero, and Kennedy Club Fitness Paso Robles) and am considering a Yoga training as well.
I am a mobile massage therapist so I come to you to meet you in the comfort of your own home! So when I am finished and leave you, you are able to take nap, hop straight in the shower, or just do nothing! Isn’t that great?
My price for my services are $60 for an hour massage, $90 for 1 1/2 hours, and $120 for 2 hours, plus gas charges based on your location. So shoot me an email or give me a call today to schedule your massage.
I have just finished my La Leche League Leader training and I am really excited about starting this journey of facilitating a mother-to-mother breastfeeding support group. I’m just waiting for the go-ahead to post the meeting details for our first meeting at the end of this month. I am also thrilled to attend the La Leche League Conference this year at the end of May!!!
I will also be submitting my packet this month for my CAPPA Postpartum Doula certification! Yay! I’m looking forward to serving the families in this beautiful community during the 4th trimester.
I am also buckling down to get my childbirth education classes in order for, fingers crossed, April!
And I will be ending the month with the start of the Lactation Educator Counselor course through the UCSD Extension Program, in my pursuit of becoming an IBCLC.
So many things to accomplish, and so many exciting things to look forward to, and I’m just sitting here trying to enjoy the journey!
I had a nice time over the holiday to spend with my family (not glued to my phone, for once) and got to enjoy some rest and recovery while not being on call. This week I am back at it and there is a fire a burnin’ under my booty! I am so excited to see what 2015 has to offer! I am currently wrapping up my La Leche League Leader training and I will have meeting information posted here as soon as I am ready. I am also finalizing my paperwork to submit for Postpartum Doula certification at the end of this month. And I’m gearing up to write my curriculum for my childbirth education classes, something which I have been procrastinating for quite sometime, but I’m ok with that because I have so many plates spinning at once, and well…life happens. So I think by completing these other tasks, I will finally be ready to complete that goal, which is good because I only have until May to finish in time for certification…eek! See there’s that fire that I need to help me prioritize and keep me on track!

Alrighty folks, I will be headed down to San Diego, in a little over a week, to take a Postpartum Doula Training workshop! I am very excited to learn some new skills and to expand my service menu.
I am currently taking August off from births, although I am a back doula for another doula for 2 of her births and may provide some support to a last minute mom. Wait…I guess that’s not really a break, so maybe just a break from scheduling my own clients. Haha.
We had a great turn out yesterday for the North County’s first annual Big Latch On Event. I can’t wait for next year! We are already brainstorming what we would like to add to next year’s event. I hope to see you there in support of all of our breastfeeding families.
September I will be right back at it with 3 clients, I may be able to take one more client in October, I may be able to take 1-2 more for November, and December is currently wide open!
As of January 1st 2015, I will be raising my doula rate from $500 to $600. I will have taken 3 CAPPA trainings to gain more skills, taken an Intro to Herbalism training to help with my postpartum support, and taken an advanced placenta and postpartum training through Full Circle. So with all of this gained knowledge and experience, I feel that it is time to value all that I have to offer. And next year, I plan on taking a few nutrition class at Cuesta to get a certificate in Nutrition.
*Just a clarification in regards to my rates increasing, that means that anyone whose due date is in 2015 will be subject to paying my newly increased rate.
